About The Role
We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Global Engineering Team and lead the end-to-end delivery of capital projects at our New Century manufacturing plant. In this role, you’ll manage approximately €5 million in annual Capex, ensuring projects are delivered on time, in full, and within budget in line with Flora Food Group standards and best industry practices.
You’ll partner with Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams, drive plant transformation initiatives, and implement value-creating projects that improve efficiency and sustainability. This is a high-impact role where you’ll influence global taskforces, pursue low-cost capital solutions, and collaborate with vendors and other regions to share best practices.
What You’ll Do
Lead execution of engineering projects, including plant transformation, brownfield, business continuity, and decarbonization initiatives.
Conduct feasibility assessments and develop cost estimates for proposed projects.
Manage change processes for Capex projects, ensuring risks and impacts are addressed.
Develop scope documents, URS, and Capital Appropriation Requests for key projects.
Plan and execute mechanical, electrical, and civil Capex projects, including capitalized maintenance.
Collaborate with global engineering SMEs for design alignment and compliance with standards.
Partner with Procurement to run closed tender processes and manage vendor relationships.
Ensure strict adherence to Flora Food Group policies throughout the project lifecycle.
Track budgets, manage variances, and mitigate risks in collaboration with Finance and stakeholders.
Identify and implement value-creation projects to deliver cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Support OEE improvement plans and debottlenecking initiatives in partnership with factory teams.
About You
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Process Engineering.
Formal Project Management certification is a plus.
Minimum 5 years of technical engineering experience in FMCG manufacturing.
At least 3 years of project management experience, preferably with mid- to large-scale investments (€10M+).
Strong knowledge of global engineering standards, process technologies, and project methodologies.
Expertise in facility design, civils, utilities, water, and wastewater treatment technologies.
Familiarity with food and beverage processes and packaging technologies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to influence across cultures and functions.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Proficiency in English and MS Office; experience with SAP and project management tools preferred.
Team player with strong problem-solving skills and an entrepreneurial mindset.
