Description
We are looking for an Associate Director, Acquisition Marketing, to join our mission-driven team. As an integral part of the Marketing department, you will join forces with the VP of Marketing (to whom you will also report) in our continued effort to inspire people to eat more plants!
This position will play a critical role in driving scalable, profitable new customer growth and ensuring acquisition efforts directly support revenue, contribution margin, and long-term customer value.
As the Associate Director, Acquisition Marketing you will lead the strategy, execution, and optimization of all paid and new customer growth channels. This highly visible leadership role owns new customer acquisition targets, CAC efficiency, and scalable revenue growth, with direct impact on profitability and company performance.

Location
- This hybrid role is based in Chicago, IL, with on-site presence at our Fulton Market office and creative partners’.
- Our hybrid approach includes 2-3 in-office days each week, giving teams the best of both flexibility and collaboration. Many team members choose to come in more often - it’s a great way to stay inspired and engaged with the team.
- This role has limited travel (<10%) to partner sites or other business-related meetings.
On the Plate
- Develop and execute a multi-channel acquisition strategy aligned to revenue and contribution margin targets.
- Own new customer growth, acquisition spend, and CAC performance.
- Build monthly and annual forecasting models in partnership with Finance.
- Oversee and optimize performance across paid media channels (Meta, Google, Affiliates, Influencers, Programmatic, and emerging platforms).
- Establish rigorous testing frameworks across audience, creative, bidding, landing pages, and incrementality measurement.
- Partner with Brand and Creative to translate performance insights into high-impact messaging.
- Improve landing pages and checkout flow in partnership with eCommerce and Product.
- Lead a high-performing internal acquisition team (currently 2 direct reports) and manage external partners.
- Drive reporting, attribution, and measurement improvements aligned to LTV and contribution margin.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks as necessary.
Main Ingredients for the Role
- 6-10+ years of experience in performance or acquisition marketing, preferably in DTC or subscription e-commerce.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven success scaling paid media budgets profitably ($5M–$20M+ annual spend preferred).
- Deep expertise in Meta and Google ecosystems; strong understanding of programmatic and emerging platforms.
- Experience managing CAC, LTV:CAC, and contribution margin targets.
- Strong financial acumen with experience building forecasting models.
- Experience building and leading high-performing teams.
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills across Creative, Finance, Analytics, Product, and Brand.
- Experience working with custom e-commerce platforms.
- Able to commute to the Chicago office.

Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $130,000 to $150,000. Compensation is based on experience and qualifications, and the posted range is not a guarantee of any specific offer.
