Description
We are looking for a Supply Chain Systems Analyst to join our mission-driven team. As an integral part of the Supply Chain department, you will partner closely with the Category Manager, to whom you will also report, in our continued effort to inspire people to eat more plants. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about process excellence, data integrity, and solving operational challenges through systems, tools, and workflow improvements.
This position will play an important role in supporting the systems and processes that power Purple Carrot's sourcing, menu planning, inventory, and fulfillment operations. You will help ensure critical business information is accurate, workflows are dependable, and cross-functional processes run smoothly across Procurement, Culinary, Operations, Finance, and Data.
As the Supply Chain Systems Analyst, you will be focused on maintaining and improving key supply chain systems and workflows, supporting recurring operational processes, troubleshooting issues, and identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across the business.

Location
This role is based in Chicago, IL, with on-site presence at our fulfillment partner, located in the Chicago Stockyards Industrial Park
Our hybrid approach includes 3-4 in-office days each week, giving teams the best of both flexibility and collaboration. Many team members choose to come in more often - it's a great way to stay inspired and engaged with the team
This role has limited travel (<10%) to fulfillment sites, vendor meetings, or other business-related meetings
On the Plate
Support and execute critical data and workflow processes across Purple Carrot's Supply Chain systems, including Fishbowl ERP, Galley Menu Planner, Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, Google Apps Script, Looker, and SQL-based reporting tools
Manage data flow across internal systems and databases, including data entry, updates, imports, exports, and reconciliations, with a strong focus on accuracy and data integrity
Support recurring Bill of Materials (BOM) and recipe workflows for weekly meal kits and prepared meals, including transferring, transforming, and validating data between Galley and Fishbowl
Maintain and enhance spreadsheet- and script-based workflows that support menu planning, ingredient and item setup, unit-of-measure conversions, and other cross-functional supply chain processes
Investigate discrepancies, troubleshoot system and workflow issues, and perform root-cause analysis to resolve errors before they impact downstream operations
Serve as a subject matter expert for core Supply Chain tools and support internal users across Operations, Culinary, Procurement, and related teams
Create, update, and maintain reports and dashboards that support operational visibility and business decision-making, including reporting in Fishbowl and dashboard development in Looker
Support the setup and maintenance of core item, vendor, pricing, ingredient, and packaging data in Fishbowl and related systems to ensure operational and financial processes are supported by reliable, well-maintained data
Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks as necessary
Main Ingredients for the Role
2-5 years of experience in a systems analyst, operations analyst, supply chain analyst, data workflow, or similar role
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Strong experience with Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel
Experience with Fishbowl or another ERP platform, business systems, or operational databases
Experience with SQL or MySQL
Experience with Google Apps Script or similar automation tools
Experience with Looker, LookML, or other BI/reporting tools
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify inconsistencies and troubleshoot issues independently
Highly detail-oriented, with a natural inclination to audit work and maintain strong data quality
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Able to commute to our fulfillment partner located in the Chicago Stockyards Industrial Park
Extra Special Sauce
Experience with Galley or similar menu planning or recipe management systems
Familiarity with supply chain, procurement, inventory, food operations, or menu planning processes, including the use of project management tools such as Asana
Ability to balance hands-on execution with a continuous improvement mindset
Comfortable working independently and taking ownership with minimal oversight
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Passion for food and plant-based products is a plus
Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $63,000 - $70,000. Compensation is based on experience and qualifications, and the posted range is not a guarantee of any specific offer.
