Job description
The Account Manager is responsible for managing current business in the industrial markets and for business development with existing and new accounts. The area of responsibility includes France and French-speaking countries in Africa.
The role focuses on providing solutions to customers, developing direct sales, and building a trusted professional network. It ensures the realization and implementation of the sales plan by acquiring and retaining new, potential, and existing accounts, while building and strengthening long-term customer relationships.
This is a home-based position that requires 40–60% travel to interact with key customer contacts, drive business growth, and align with internal stakeholders. The role reports to the Sales Manager Industrial EMEA.
Responsibilities
Sales/account strategy for sales and new business development in the region and approved sales plan;
Monitors trends in business, market and customer requirements and potential clients, and delivers input to marketing, researchers and application specialists;
Closes deals and ensures the execution of sales, sales support and after-sales service (both technical and commercial) in the designated area;
Stimulates, develops and increases market demand for products and applications;
Contributes to the market introduction of new products and concepts;
Builds, maintains and expands a network of new and existing strategic external relations.
Training & experience
Bachelor or Master’s degree in chemistry or equivalent;
Knowledge on chemical specialties ( paper applications, adhesives and building ).
5 to 10 years’ relevant sales experiences in the Industrial B to B business, with value-added products, services and innovation;
Comfortable working and travelling in an international business to business environment;
Excellent communication skills in English and French.
