To support our next phase of growth, we are looking for a Commercial Lead DACH – Retail & Food Service (f/m/d) who will drive our sales strategy and distribution across Germany, Austria, Switzerland and beyond.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands FMCG retail and food service, enjoys building sales structures in lean teams, and is excited to scale innovative food products in a fast-growing startup.

🌊 Your Role
You are responsible for building and scaling our commercial presence across the DACH region. You develop our sales strategy for retail and food service and translate it into concrete distribution growth.
You combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution: negotiating listings with retail buyers, building long-term partnerships, structuring our sales processes, and leading external partners such as promoters, agencies, and distributors.
Working closely with the founder and product team, you ensure that our innovative plant-based products reach the right shelves, menus, and customers.
Your Responsibilities
💰 Commercial Strategy & Revenue Growth
Develop and execute the commercial strategy for the DACH region
Drive distribution growth across retail and food service and launch new products
Define realistic revenue targets, distribution goals, and sales KPIs
Identify new sales channels and strategic partnerships
Support the international expansion of our product portfolio
🍣 Retail & Food Service Sales
Lead negotiations with retail buyers and key accounts
Secure and expand listings in supermarkets, e-commerce, and food service channels
Develop compelling sell-in strategies and sales presentations
Manage trade promotions, pricing structures, and retail activation strategies
Analyze category trends, retail data, and market opportunities
📊 Sales Operations & Automation
Build and manage a structured sales pipeline, automate lead tracking and reporting
Develop scalable processes for sales outreach, retailer communication, and partner management
Monitor performance metrics and optimize sales efficiency
🤝 Team & Partner Management
Lead and coordinate sales agents, promoters, and external agencies
Build and mentor a growing commercial team
Manage distributors and international partners
Collaborate closely with marketing, operations, and product development
♟️Your Profile
7+ years of experience in sales, retail, or business development
Experience in plant-based food, sustainable products, or innovative FMCG categories
Proven experience selling into DACH retail and/or food service
Experience with frozen, chilled, or ambient food products
Experience in both large FMCG companies and startups or scale-ups
Strong negotiation skills and experience with key account management
Experience building sales structures in lean, fast-moving environments
Leadership experience managing teams, promoters, agencies, or distributors
Experience with CRM systems and sales process automation
Entrepreneurial mindset and strong ownership mentality
Fluent German and English (written and spoken)
