WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The Quality Specialist supports the maintenance and continuous improvement of Simply Good Foods' Food Safety and Quality Management Systems. This role helps ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and certification standards, including FSSC 22000. The Quality Specialist is responsible for managing documentation, supporting quality programs, coordinating system activities, and assisting with reporting and continuous improvement initiatives. This position works closely with internal teams and external partners to uphold food safety and quality standards across the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support the administration and maintenance of quality-related systems, including Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Salesforce, and other data management platforms.
• Manage tasks within TraceGains or similar supplier/document management systems, including document collection, review, approval workflows, and data requests.
• Support training administration through Alchemy or similar learning management systems, including tracking required training completion, updating training materials, creating quizzes, and launching job-specific learning plans.
• Assist with the development, revision, and maintenance of policies, procedures, forms, and workflows that support compliance with FSSC 22000 and other food safety and quality standards.
• Maintain controlled documentation and records within the Quality Management System.
• Generate reports and support quality data collection, analysis, and recordkeeping activities.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects and quality initiatives.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and maintaining records.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality and food safety needs.
• Attend departmental and cross-functional meetings and contribute to team objectives.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
• Working knowledge of food safety and quality assurance principles, including GFSI-recognized standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and SharePoint.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to gather, organize, and communicate information effectively to cross-functional stakeholders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Dietetics, Food Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry, food manufacturing, or a co-manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting food safety, quality systems, compliance programs, documentation control, product investigations, sensory programs, or related quality functions.
• Demonstrated ability to accurately complete administrative and documentation-related responsibilities.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams is preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 10–20%.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The health, satisfaction and well-being of our employees are important to us and an integral part of our organization’s goals. In this spirit, we are excited to share the available compensation for this role, which includes a base salary range and an annual short-term incentive.
We provide the base salary range, exclusive of benefits or additional incentives (highlighted here). Additionally, this position is eligible for a 5% annual short-term incentive. If you are hired at Simply Goods Foods, your final base salary compensation will be determined based upon such factors as: geographic locations, skills, training, education and/or experience. Please keep in mind that hiring at the compensation range maximum would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
HQ/OFFICE-BASED:
Colorado salary range is: $70,000 – $80,000
