- At Klim, we work with farmers and food companies to make regenerative agriculture scalable and financially rewarding for farmers. Through our platform, we help farmers restore soil health, increase biodiversity and capture carbon while creating new, reliable income streams. We're a Berlin-based AgriTech startup backed by $22M in Series A funding, partnering with global food leaders such as Nestle and Kaufland to reduce emissions across their supply chains and build long-term resilience. Since 2020, we've supported 3,500 farmers managing over 900,000 hectares.
The Role
You will translate regenerative agricultural expertise and science in arable farming systems in temperate climates into actionable, scalable digital products for farmers on Klim's platform, ensuring these products are agronomically sound, farmer-relevant, commercially viable, and delivered with high quality.
Responsibilities
Own the agronomic logic behind farmer-facing recommendation and assessment engines; translate agronomic principles into digital products and clear product/engineering specifications.
Own and evolve digital agronomy products, including decision-support and assessment tools for farmers; expand Klim's capabilities for regenerative practices in temperate arable systems, including method prioritization, trade-off assessment, and scientific evidence integration.
Own and review agronomic datasets, literature, and assumptions used in digital products; contribute to roadmap and prioritization decisions based on farmer value, willingness to pay, partner value, technical feasibility, and strategic relevance.
Validate agronomic models, algorithms, and prototypes by challenging assumptions, stress-testing outputs against field reality, and approving agronomic soundness before release; support farmer validation through interviews, feedback analysis, test cases, and field-reality checks.
Monitor competitors and support expansion into new markets, geographies, and climate zones; serve as the internal expert on regenerative arable farming, supporting Product, Sales, Farmer Success, Marketing, Data, and Remote Sensing teams; review agronomic content, farmer-facing explanations, and English/German copy for accuracy and credibility.
Depending on experience and team setup, this role may also include an Agronomy Team Lead scope: managing the agronomy team, translating strategic projects into execution, and reviewing team outputs to ensure high standards of agronomic quality, scientific robustness, and farmer relevance.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in agronomy, regenerative agriculture, farm advisory, agricultural science, or a related field; strong practical experience working with arable farms through farm management, agronomic advisory, or farmer-facing research.
Solid academic background in agronomy, agricultural sciences, or a related discipline; deep understanding of regenerative arable farming in temperate climates, including soil health, nutrient management, crop rotations, cover crops, tillage, and reduced-input systems.
Able to translate agronomic expertise into scalable digital products and critically assess models, algorithms, and recommendations; strong judgement in ambiguous or novel situations.
Pragmatic, innovative, and motivated to create scalable value for farmers; effective communicator and collaborator across functions; interest in mentoring or team leadership is a plus.
Fluent in English; German is a strong advantage. Comfortable using AI tools to improve efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards.
Benefits
Be part of Klim's journey from the very beginning, working on an equal footing with the leadership team to build a new company.
Make a daily, active contribution to combating climate change, promoting consumer education, and fostering fair conditions for climate-conscious farmers.
