Work Shift: Day Pay Type: Salary Hourly Rate (if applicable): N/A Targeted Base Salary Range (if applicable): $67,800.00 - $88,200.00 JOB OVERVIEW: The Sales and Operations Planner – Commodity is responsible for all activities associated with developing an operational commodity forecast for the enterprise to execute against. Creates and maintains statistical baselines as available for their product portfolio incorporating sales forecast input, business intelligence, marketing insights and shipment history. Develops commodity sales strategy with sales and supply. Functions as the primary integration point into the commercial and growth organization. Leads demand plan discussions each month with key counterparts in Sales and Marketing for S&OP Demand Review. Delivers a timely, accurate and actionable monthly demand plan to Operations, Finance and Supply Chain. RESPONSIBILITIES: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Develops and maintains monthly operational forecast down to Product/Sold To/Location using the IBP Demand Module. Utilizes sales plans, distribution changes, shipment history, competitor activities and marketing plans. Conducts monthly root cause analysis of forecast error to identify corrective actions – effectively communicates this information to sales, marketing, finance and the broader supply chain. Leads monthly production plan discussions to align on a single operational demand signal for the portfolio across businesses and functions. Prepares data inputs for S&OP Demand Review. Works closely with sales to understand customer performance, new product formats, and strategic initiatives for incorporation into monthly forecasts Works with cross-functional partners on projects such as new product launches, obsolescence (SKU rationalization) and transitions while accounting for pipeline fill and cannibalization. Collaborates with Finance, Marketing, and Sales on the development of Annual Operating Plan (AOP), LE1 and LE2 forecasts. Partners with Supply Planning to understand supply chain implications of forecast changes and deliver the most effective and complete Supply Chain plan. Represents the operational production plan across departments and functions in support of projects including innovation, capacity and capital planning etc. Maintains routine interaction with Sales, Marketing, Operations, IT and R&D up to leadership levels. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree 2 years of supply chain planning or production planning experience Commodity or Consumer Packaged Goods Experience. Total minimum number of years of experience required in lieu of degree 6 or more years PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance or Supply Chain. Sound understanding of concepts and principles in Sales/Marketing and working knowledge of the same in Finance and Supply Chain. In depth understanding of how a demand forecast impacts Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and the Business. SAP/IBP experience APICS or other Forecasting certification preferred SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS N/A PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to work in operations/plant environment for extended periods.
