Job Purpose
The FSQR Systems Manager Grains at PURIS is central to our mission of transforming the global food system through innovation in plant-based nutrition. By executing the SQF and food safety programs, the FSQR Systems Manager plays a crucial part in maintaining the integrity of our supply chain, ensuring that our practices not only meet but exceed regulatory requirements and customer expectations, thereby contributing significantly to our aspiration of a Plant Strong Planet.
Responsibilities
- Grains FSQR – Responsible for leading the daily quality at Randolph and Harrold. Lead contact for customer quality relations ensuring customer and regulatory compliance. PCQI, HACCP certified, along with an SQF practitioner.
- Responsible for Maintaining document control the Grains Quality Systems. This includes direct responsibility for updates to all quality control and food safety documents (e.g. HACCP, GMP, Sanitation, etc.) and assistance in the evaluation of current and proposed system procedures.
- Responsible for developing and recommending test procedures for finished products and raw materials. This includes maintaining calibration of laboratory equipment calibration, ensuring test procedures are properly performed, and maintaining and trending all data.
- Responsible for assuring training of all employees in quality, food safety, and other related programs. This includes programs such as SSOPs, cGMPs, HACCP, third-party certification standards.
- Responsible for supplier programs including FSVP, grower certification management, and trend analysis.
- SQF Compliance Manager: Responsible for assuring compliance to SQF/GFSI criteria by conducting internal audits at Grain’s manufacturing sites. Develop compliance improvement programs of nonconformities for all sites through collaboration with Manufacturing Teams. Lead annual SQF audits including finalizing non-conformances finding root cause and establishing strong corrective actions. Develop and empower the site SQF Practitioners to implement, review, maintain and improve the PURIS SQF system.
- Out of Specification Product Release Management: Responsible to verify compliance with FSQR standards before customer shipment of out-of-specification inventory including compliance to customer preapproval and waiver process.
- COA Generation: Generate certificates of analysis for out-of-specification inventory, and grains aligning with customer requirements and FSQR standards.
- Organic Specialist: Accountable for Puris’s enterprise-wide Organic registration and compliance for Randolph, Harrold, Minneapolis, Turtle Lake and Dawson. Manage new product additions, accountable for site audits, empower site teams and ensure all necessary follow up actions, renewals and responses to certifying body. Verify grower approval and information is up to date and easily retrievable.
- TraceGains (or alternative) SME: Leverage our ability to automate customer document requests using Tracegains or alternative software. Focus on maximizing existing software and minimizing necessary subscription costs.
Requirements
Experience/Qualification
- Over 10 years of practical experience in human food ingredient manufacturing including: SQF implementation & requirements, product release, FSP creation and verification, internal auditing.
- Internal auditing, PCQI/HACCP certified, SQF Practitioner
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products, Tracegains (or similar) customer requirements software,
- Presentation skills, team & leadership development
