POSITION SUMMARY
The HR Administrative Assistant supports the Company by providing administrative assistance with human resources and office management tasks. The HR Administrative Assistant is primarily responsible for responding to employee daily inquiries; maintaining personnel files; processing status changes; onboarding new hires; responding to unemployment claims and employment verifications; filing worker’s compensation claims; completing annual OSHA summary; and maintaining two office locations ensuring they are well stocked.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Processes all status changes and new hires in a timely manner to ensure 100% legal compliance.
Initiates new hire paperwork for hourly employees while partnering with hiring manager, runs E-Verify background checks, and enters data into the Paylocity system.
Maintains all active and inactive personnel files and I-9 files.
Maintains other confidential files for the Company.
Responds to employment verifications, unemployment claims, and disability claims.
Serves as point person for worker’s compensation; files worker’s compensation claims; and serves as point person with worker’s compensation provider and injured employee.
Maintains OSHA Log and completes annual summary report for posting.
Provides basic HR support including explaining and interpreting HR policies and answering new hire questions to ensure smooth onboarding process and employee engagement.
Assist in administering benefits for hourly employees through Ease and T. Rowe Price.
Provides general administrative support including ordering supplies, photo-copying, arranging meetings, etc.
Maintains Communications Boards at RIPC and URDC.
Greet/check in visitors who arrive at the RIPC, ensuring they sign Urban Remedy’s GMP policies.
Provides support for special occasions and meetings.
Ensures both office facilities are well stocked.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms including the ability to explain HR processes, policies and benefits.
Has strong project management skills to participate in or lead projects.
Technical Skills Required
Proficient in MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point.
Capability to utilize technology tools including document preparation, spreadsheet development and research.
Financial acumen required to manage small budgets, set-up and manage spreadsheets, and track basic HR metrics such as turnover.
Willingness to learn CA and Federal Employment Laws.
Education/Training Required
Experience in Human Resources (or a strong interest to learn) preferred, but not required.
Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
This position spends long periods of time sitting while working on a computer or standing while performing job tasks.
Ability to lift 25lbs.
Mobility in plant/warehouse manufacturing environment.
Sitting 60%, walking 25%, standing 15%
