Job Overview: The Procurement and Supply Chain Associate will support the VP of Supply Chain and Manufacturing, managing procurement and supply chain activities both internally and with external partners. This role is essential to ensure a streamlined, organized, efficient, and margin-conscious operation. The Procurement and Supply Chain Associate will collaborate with our Operations Manager and suppliers to ensure materials and production schedules are aligned with business needs. They will also assist with vendor onboarding, sourcing new materials, and managing and improving our internal tools and documentation. The ideal candidate is collaborative, organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with a strong understanding of supply chain and procurement fundamentals.
Key Responsibilities: Procurement & Supplier Management:
● Vet and onboard new raw material and production suppliers in collaboration with the quality team for both new and existing ingredients.
● Support negotiations with suppliers on pricing and terms.
● Manage accurate and timely movements, record keeping, and inventory in our ERP system.
● Assist the VP in managing procurement workflows, documentation, and supplier communications.
● Execute invoice approval processes related to the procurement purchases.
● Maintain organized records of contracts, supplier and product information, and procurement process SOPs. Production & Inventory Support:
● Support the creation of production assemblies in our ERP system.
● Assist in tracking and reconciling inventory post-production, including wastage and costs.
● Collaborate with logistics to confirm the timely delivery of materials, ensuring materials arrive 1-4 weeks before planned production.
● Support demand planning efforts by working with sales and production teams.
● Assist in preparing monthly production summary reports highlighting COGS drivers.
● Help with vetting potential new production facilities and onboarding processes.
● Support post-run inventory reconciliation and discrepancy management. Additional Responsibilities:
● Support efforts to estimate COGs for new product lines and scale-up processes. ● Participate in weekly Innovation, Sales, and Product team calls as needed. Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
● Fluency with Excel and intermediate-level model-building capabilities
● 3+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing support. ● Experience with ERP systems (Cin7, DEAR, or similar).
● Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
● Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
● Vendor relationship management experience.
● Knowledge of and experience with food manufacturing and consumer goods is a big plus.
