We are hiring a Material Planning Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of Material Planners in executing material requirements planning (MRP) to support optimal production scheduling, enhance operational efficiency, and minimize material obsolescence. You will ensure timely availability of materials to meet on-time and in-full (OTIF) product shipments. This position is based at the Totowa, NJ plant and will report to the Sr. Supply Chain Manager. A successful candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a proactive and organized approach, effective problem-solving skills, and a consistent commitment to contributing and delivering results.
Essential Functions
- Lead and manage material planning activities to support operational efficiency, service levels, and inventory goals.
- Develop and engage direct reports by leveraging their strengths and fostering leadership growth.
- Lead and support business-led initiatives including BOM changes, obsolescence mitigation, and operational projects.
- Promote and implement best practices with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems to analyze raw material requirements and issue purchase orders aligned with demand and inventory strategies.
- Ensure purchase orders are acknowledged, confirmed, and updated with accurate delivery dates.
- Monitor inventory minimums and lead times, considering demand shifts, warehouse capacity, business priorities, and supplier capabilities.
- Collaborate with scheduling, operations, and warehousing to align material availability with production schedules and ensure on-time, in-full delivery.
- Communicate material constraints proactively to support schedule adjustments and mitigate service risks.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and availability of certificates of analysis/conformity (COA/COC).
- Escalate recurring supplier issues, missing pricing, and contract concerns to Procurement.
- Adhere to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), safety, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude with a focus on customer service and quality productivity.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal and team safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned, which may change with or without notice.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or Management
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain and operations
- Experience with ERP systems, including MRP, inventory management, and planning/scheduling modules; SAP preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills
- Buying experience in the food industry preferred
- Experience in data analysis and manipulation
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Our offer
The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, performance, location and business or organizational needs. The base salary range for this role is $96,000 to $120,000. In addition, we offer:

Working Environment: Plants are large, open floor areas with loud machinery, requiring some areas for workers to wear ear protection to guard against noise. Workers are exposed to high temperatures during the summer months. Some work in cold environments during winter months. You will be exposed to a dusty work environment due to raw materials. Materials may contain allergens (eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame seeds, milk, fish, shellfish, wheat).
Physical Requirements:
- Sits, Stands, Walks, Kneels, and Bends frequently.
- Frequently uses hand/finger dexterity for typing.
- Reaches above and below the shoulders.
- Corrected vision, speaking ability, and hearing are usually involved in performing written and verbal job functions.
