Applied AI Lead — Remote within the United States; occasional travel to Instinct’s St. Louis headquarters or other company locations as needed.
Instinct is hiring a hands-on builder in its Data Hub & Analytics team to own applied AI, agents, automations, and internal tools across the business. The role partners with Finance and other decision owners on reporting automation, close and forecast support, daily analytics, and selected commercial and operations use cases.
Responsibilities include scoping, building, and maintaining AI tools and integrations; partnering with the CFO and FP&A to automate recurring reports; prioritizing use cases by impact and feasibility; running low-cost experiments; auditing data quality; working with IT and data teams on integrations and security; defining human-review guardrails; monitoring usage, cost, and performance; evaluating vendor work; and enabling adoption through playbooks and training.
The role requires experience building applied AI, ML, or automation solutions in a business setting, Python or equivalent, LLM APIs/agents and workflow automation, SQL and data-quality auditing, finance or analytics partnership, and sound judgment about governance and human review. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is expected. Food, beverage, CPG, or pet-food experience is a plus.
