The role is based in our Budapest GBS (hybrid model combining office & remote work). You’ll join a team of agile, customer-focused thinkers who collaboratively solve difficult business problems.
Purpose of the role: Under the general direction of the Accounting Supervisor,
Accounting Associate is responsible for US GAAP accounting, reporting and analyses of data and other ad hoc requests for information. The workflow coordinator performs month-end closings, general ledger account analysis and Balance Sheet account reconciliations, prepares SOX controls.
The Accounting Associate prepares and post journal entries and perform related account reconciliations and responsible for monitoring the attainment of various performance goals / metrics, assuring the existence of appropriate controls at each step, and searching for new opportunities.
The key responsibilities also include continuously improving closing processes and efficiency, interfacing with external and internal auditors.

Open and Close Sub-Ledgers AP / AR / GL
Process Local Tax Provisions
Process Allocations
Process Currency Revaluations
Review Cost Centre Expenses
Review Regional Preliminary PL
Close Financial Ledger
Prepare Submission Checklist
Transfer and Reconcile GL for Consolidation
To lead by example following all requirements, processes, structure while maintaining a can-do mentality
Support the day-to-day operations of the Team while maintaining operational tasks
Support in meeting Key Performance Indicators, such as accuracy and timeliness related metrics
Proactively escalating to your supervisor and/or the Operation leader on business and performance issues
Playing a key role in supporting the supervisor with training and guidance of new joiners
Other duties as ordered by the direct manager
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
Must have working knowledge of general accounting procedures and process including GAAP
Advanced level of English knowledge, both written and verbal
A good understanding of general accounting processes
University degree
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, with an emphasis on Excel
ERP system (SAP ECC) experience advantageous
Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining accuracy and providing top notch customer service
Great customer service is essential
