The Director, Supply Chain Finance serves as the strategic finance partner to the Head of Supply Chain, providing financial leadership for the end-to-end supply chain. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with key Finance leaders, this role is responsible for driving financial planning, cost management, and performance analysis to support operational efficiency and strategic growth. This role plays a critical part in translating operational initiatives into financial impact and enabling value creation across the supply chain.
Hybrid Work Arrangement: this position requires the successful candidate to work out of our Elmwood Park, NJ Manufacturing facility 2-3 days per week.
Role And Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Partnership:
Report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and serve as a key member of the Finance Leadership Team.
Financial Business Partner to Supply Chain Leadership Team, which includes Manufacturing, Productivity, Continuous Improvement (CI), Procurement, Supply Planning, Warehousing, Customer Logistics, Commercialization, and R&D.
Provide financial leadership to connect operational actions with business outcomes and strategic goals.
Financial Planning & Analysis
Lead the annual budget and periodic forecast processes for Supply Chain functions, delivering detailed analysis and executive-level summaries comparing budget vs. forecast vs. prior year.
Monitor actual performance versus plan, perform variance analysis, and maintain a cost Risks & Opportunities log with actionable insights for improvement.
Provide comprehensive financial reporting and analysis to support senior leadership and Board of Directors requirements.
Costing & Operational Efficiency
Manage and review development of and maintenance of annual cost standards by SKU.
Oversee plant and warehouse financial controls, ensuring cost control measures are in place and aligned with budget goals.
Collaborate with Supply Chain leaders to track and drive annual Value Creation Plan (VCP) initiatives across procurement, formulation, manufacturing, and logistics.
Innovation & Commercialization Support
Provide financial analysis for innovation and renovation projects, including pack-size architecture, labor/overhead efficiency implications, and strategic margin alignment.
Partner with the Commercialization team to forecast and track R&D Plant Trial expenditures.
Capital & Investment Management
Lead capital investment analysis, including ROI and payback calculations; monitor capital spending against approved budgets.
Partner with the Head of Supply Chain & CFO, providing financial guidance on Supply Chain special projects, as needed.
Audit & Compliance
Support internal and external audits and due diligence efforts related to Supply Chain financials and processes.
Team Leadership
Manage a team of four, including one direct report, overseeing all aspects of Supply Chain Finance and Inventory Accounting.
Set annual goals, develop professional development plans, and conduct performance evaluations to build a high-performing finance team.
Qualifications For Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, MBA or other Masters preferred.
10+ years of progressive experience in Finance including Supply Chain Finance, Plant Controller and/or Cost Accounting, preferred.
Proficient in data mining, financial modelling, scenario building and deep “why” analysis a must.
Experience in a manufacturing or consumer products company required. ERP experience preferred.
Strong organizational and time management skills, serving with a sense of urgency.
Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and drive transformational change.
Classically trained, knows what good looks like, but thrives in an entrepreneurial, small company environment.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Advanced computer software proficiency (word, excel, outlook, PowerPoint).
