Job description
The R&D laboratory assistant in the agri-food sector actively participates in the development of new products and the improvement of existing ones. Their main tasks are:
1. Product development support:
- Implement the experimental plans designated by the R&D manager
- Conduct laboratory tests to test new recipes and processes.
2. Analysis and characterization:
- Perform physico-chemical and organoleptic analyses on prototypes (sensory tests, pH analysis, texture, colorimetry, AW, etc.)
- Monitor aging tests
3. Documentation and reporting:
- Participate in writing up test and analysis results in clear and concise reports
4. Laboratory management:
- Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of analytical equipment and instruments.
- Keep test and analysis reports up to date.
- Participate in maintaining the hygiene/cleanliness of the laboratory and tools
Desired profile
- Skills, experience and a willingness to learn take precedence over a degree.
- Laboratory experience (or experience in a food processing factory/workshop) is mandatory.
Technical skills:
- Good knowledge of ingredients and food processing technologies.
- Proficiency in laboratory analysis tools (physico-chemistry, texturometry, etc.).
- Proficiency in computer tools (Excel, Google, scientific analysis software, etc.)
Personal qualities:
- Curiosity
- Autonomy and initiative
- Rigour, scientific and mathematical mindset
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with the R&D manager
- Sense of organization and respect for deadlines (punctuality)
- Responsiveness to unforeseen events and ability to solve problems
Recruitment process
You'll have an initial HR interview, followed by a second interview with Antoine, the R&D manager, and then a tour of the lab and offices. 😎
