Scientist, NGS Pipeline Development
Triplebar is on a mission to learn the language of biology using generative AI. We’re building cutting-edge models trained directly on millions of genomes, powered by the largest biological data engine on Earth. Our hyperthroughput platform evolves and screens biology at unprecedented scale, generating the data needed to teach machines how to design cells that can make anything.
We call this Evolutionary Intelligence: a new way to engineer biology, grounded in real data and aimed at solving the toughest problems in industrial biotech. Our first targets: protein production in microbial (Pichia pastoris) and mammalian (CHO) systems. Our goal: compress the timeline for designing an organism to produce any protein from years to seconds.
We’re looking for a driven, creative scientist/engineer to build out our HTP NGS sequencing workflow. We will be performing multi-omics sequencing on tens of thousands of cell lines per month, and we need an experienced problem solver to build the pipeline that will make this happen. You’ll collaborate with a tight-knit, world-class team spanning machine learning, bioinformatics, molecular biology, and microfluidics.
This is not just a job. It’s a chance to build something truly new, at the edge of what’s possible. If you want to go fast, dive deep, work hard, and make a dent in the universe, we want to meet you.
The role
As a full-time Scientist at Triplebar, you’ll lead the design, build, and operations of our NGS pipeline. This is an opportunity to set up a HTP sequencing core that can process tens of thousands of samples a month at a state of the art cost point. The data generated by this work will power the models that we build and enable a new era of biological engineering.
You’ll take full ownership of the pipeline from soup to nuts, from design through execution and analysis. Your work will drive critical proof-of-concept studies, determine the achievable cost points and required capex, and directly impact how we build and train the next generation of genome language models. Precision, creativity, and scientific rigor are all essential—you’ll have to challenge a lot of assumptions to build a pipeline that meets our needs and delivers on quality, throughput, and cost.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role at the cutting edge of synthetic biology, perfect for someone who’s ready to be part of building the future.
Your Contributions
Leverage expertise in diverse NGS platform requirements (Illumina, Ultima, etc) and the science behind low cost library prep to design a process that meets cost and throughput requirements.
Develop PoC and MVP strategies to quickly validate key assumptions around platform architecture.
Help define platform KPIs and build QC processes to ensure robust operation
Utilize automation and miniaturization to create a workflow that can be operated by a minimum number of operators and meets cost requirements.
Set-up, validate, and operate platform
Work closely with other parts of the org (assay development, build, ML/bioinformatics) to ensure the work fits into the larger Triplebar platform
Build company culture and serve as a role model for future hires
