Planet A Foods is for people who want to change the future of food. We are reinventing how the world produces food ingredients, replacing scarce and unsustainable raw materials with scalable, clean, and delicious alternatives. Our first product, a cocoa-free chocolate, is just the beginning; our ambition is to build a new global champion in food ingredients. At Planet A Foods, you'll join a bold, highly committed, international team of scientists, engineers, operators, and industry experts united by one goal: creating real, measurable planetary impact.
The Role
This role offers real accounting ownership from day one, not just filing and data entry. As a Junior Accounting Manager, you will build your accounting foundation hands-on, supporting our full bookkeeping cycle while contributing to the automation and process improvement work that keeps Planet A Foods running efficiently. You'll start with a structured onboarding boot camp designed to fast-track your fundamentals before taking on full ownership of your workstreams, working closely with our CFO and Lead FP&A.
Responsibilities
Support monthly and annual financial closures, learning the end-to-end close process with exposure to consolidation workflows.
Own and continuously optimize our end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) processes.
Run full-cycle bookkeeping (AP/AR/GL) on our current stack (DATEV Unternehmen Online and Spendesk).
Participate in ERP system projects from an accounting perspective, shadowing implementation work and gradually owning tasks.
Streamline VAT and tax reporting through integrated system logic and digital filing interfaces, replacing manual processes with automated compliance.
Design and manage payment workflows to optimize cash flow, enhance customer experience, and maintain operational bank relations; support audit documentation preparation and liaise with internal stakeholders.
Requirements
Education in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with at least 1-2 years of relevant experience, ideally in startups, scaleups, or consulting.
Exposure to the implementation of an accounting or ERP system is a strong plus.
Basic knowledge of German accounting principles (HGB/German GAAP) and DATEV familiarity.
Analytical, tech-savvy, and genuinely numbers-driven, with real enthusiasm for AI workflows and process optimization; reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
Full professional fluency in German and English.
Benefits
Early ownership and responsibility in a fast-moving environment.
Collaborate with a passionate international team working at the edge of what's possible.
Work in a rare food-tech startup that is scaling and operating a 24/7 4-shift production system, in a position where you help challenge a trillion-dollar industry.
Very competitive compensation and opportunity to grow.
30 days vacation, tasty lunches, snacks, drinks, vouchers, gym, and chocolate every single day.
