About the role
This role supports Category and Shopper Insights for the Clif Bar portfolio (CLIF, Zbar, LUNA), partnering with mid-west regional retailers including Meijer, Hy-Vee, Giant Eagle, and Spartan Nash. You will convert in-depth shopping and retail environment insights into category, retail and customer strategies and recommendations, ensuring shopper insights are integrated into marketing plans and programs, and supporting the broader cross-category shopper insights agenda.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with buyer and sales teams to develop best-in-class category growth strategies based on market dynamics and shopper behavior.
Leverage customer-specific data sources to understand shopper dynamics and identify growth opportunities.
Develop actionable recommendations and plans to accelerate category growth through assortment, shelving, and promotional analysis.
Develop best-in-class merchandising solutions via planogram execution.
Be an active contributor to the joint business planning process.
Build, manage, and enhance reporting dashboards to enable strategic decision-making and accelerate insights delivery.
Serve as the category thought-leader and advisor for retail customers and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications and skills
Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.
5+ years of experience in a similar role within the FMCG/CPG industry.
Deep understanding of category development and category management practices, and best-in-class ways of working with retailers and internal corporate teams.
Technical experience with syndicated data systems (Nielsen, IRI, Spectra, panel data, retailer data systems), shelf management software (JDA), and Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills; ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Salary and benefits
Base salary range $122,000 to $167,750, depending on experience, skills, education and location, plus a competitive bonus program.
