We are seeking an Equipment Safety Specialist for our Baltimore-based U.S. operation to oversee safety compliance operations for modular conveyors and integrated conveyance systems. The role ensures adherence to established safety processes, drives continuous improvement, and expands safety compliance practices to complex integrated solutions.
Work includes collaborating with global assembly, engineering, project management, Quality, Product Stewardship, and Legal/Risk teams; embedding safety in design and verification; and applying relevant safety standards.
Key responsibilities: ensure and expand design-safety processes for automated equipment and integrated systems; evaluate and improve compliance processes; assist with training design and engineering teams and act as the U.S. point of contact for design safety; conduct/review equipment and integrated-system risk assessments; support design-for-safety throughout product development; verify compliance through design reviews and prototype validation; address customer safety inquiries; collaborate across assembly and engineering teams; apply OSHA, ASME, NFPA, EU Machinery Regulation, and other national/international standards.
Requirements: associate’s or bachelor’s degree in safety or related field, safety certification, and 5+ years’ experience in equipment safety, compliance, or design engineering. Strong regulatory, risk-assessment, communication, training, problem-solving, and cross-functional skills. Travel up to 25%; CMSE or functional-safety certification preferred. This position is not eligible for work authorization or sponsorship. Salary range $59,300–$178,400; compensation may include commissions, discretionary incentives, or production incentives.
